Portrait of a woman from the Gambue tribe, Angola
The Gambue are a small population living in southern Angola, between the Huila plateau, the plains of Chibia, and the arid regions near Oncocua.
They belong to the large Bantu ethnolinguistic group and speak the Nyaneka language.
The women are known for their traditional hairstyles—crafted using a mixture of clay paste and milk fat—as well as their distinctive beaded collars. The men create characteristic club-like staffs known as *porriños*.

Portrait of a man from a village in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat
The Rann of Kutch salt desert stretches along the southern border between India and Pakistan. It is the world’s largest salt desert, divided into two main areas: the larger section near the border with Pakistan, and another extending further east into Gujarat as far as Dasada, known as the “Little” Rann of Kutch.
The entire region lies just above sea level; during the summer monsoon, it is flooded by rainwater, which subsequently recedes to leave behind vast white expanses of salt.
