Portrait of a Man from Rajasthan

The Rann of Kutch salt desert stretches along the southern border between India and Pakistan. It is the world’s largest salt desert, divided into two main areas: the larger section near the border with Pakistan, and another extending further east into Gujarat as far as Dasada, known as the “Little” Rann of Kutch. The entire territory lies just above sea level; during the summer monsoon, it is flooded by rainwater, which subsequently recedes to leave behind vast white expanses of salt.
